Ann Siritharanukul (33 and a commercial banking relationship manager) and Chris Kwon (32 and a Realtor) celebrated becoming husband and wife surrounded by family and friends at Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, California, during a modern romantic ceremony and reception. Skirball was the perfect venue to accommodate their 150-plus guest list, and it provided ideal spaces for their al fresco ceremony and ballroom dinner reception. Rather than arranging a traditional ceremony setup, Ann and Chris’s guests sat in a circle around them as they exchanged vows in the terrace. “The courtyard was private and dramatic,” Ann says. “Our planner set up the ceremony in a circular style with four quadrants,” she says. “She wanted us be the focal point of the ceremony, instead of having all the guests sit behind us, which is the more traditional way.” Ann and Chris’s reception was held indoors in the center’s chic ballroom, decorated in various shades of pink, white, and gray. “The reception decor slowly evolved along the way after my planner saw the items I picked out starting with my bridal dress,” Ann says. “The theme was focused on modern romantic because it's also my favorite style. We choose gray, fuchsia and white to be the main colors, and we used a lot of shades of this palette throughout the decor.”  Tables were set with a variety of centerpieces: lavish floral arrangements, minimal glass vases with floating candles, and tall glass candelabras with tapered candles. “The ballroom and its high ceilings offered the perfect type of atmosphere,” Ann says of their glamorous contemporary reception. —Marissa Hermanson

“Chris proposed to me on my birthday trip to Asia," Ann says. "He made a proposal video, and the actual proposal happened the day before my birthday in Busan, Korea.”
On her wedding day, Ann looked stunning in an opulent Vera Wang ball gown that she paired with metallic glitter pumps, a long lace veil and a custom hairpiece made with Swarovski crystals.
Bridesmaids wore short fuchsia dresses and carried cream and white bouquets of majolica spray roses, garden roses, and calla lilies.
Ann gave her bridesmaids Kate Spade pave skinny bow bangles. “Since the bridesmaids wore sparkly silver pumps, I wanted to get them an accessory to match it,” she says.
Ann carried a lush bouquet of hydrangeas, dahlias and fuchsia orchids tied with a silvery gray ribbon and accented with pearl details.
Chris accessorized his classic black tuxedo with a pink calla lily boutonniere with a white snowberry accent, while the groomsmen sported a white calla lily with a fuchsia spray rose on their tuxes. Groomsmen also had a pop of pink as their pocket squares and socks.
The couple exchanged vows outside at Skirball Cultural Center’s beautiful courtyard in Los Angeles, California. “Our planner set up the ceremony in a circular style with four quadrants,” Ann says. “She wanted us be the focal point of the ceremony instead of having all the guests sit behind us, which is the more traditional way.”
White orchids and hydrangeas added a contemporary and chic touch to the ceremony.
Ann’s sister gave the couple a framed tree with heart leaves as a wedding gift, which the couple used in lieu of a guest book. “She custom ordered it from Esty. The whole sign-in board is made of wood, including the hearts, tree truck and birds,” Ann says. “We had our guests sign in on the board, and we now have it framed and hanging in our house.”
“The ballroom and its high ceilings offered the perfect atmosphere,” Ann says of their contemporary and chic reception at Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, California.
“The reception decor slowly evolved after my planner saw the items I picked out, starting with my bridal dress,” Ann says. “The theme was focused on modern romantic because it was also my favorite style. We choose gray, fuchsia and white to be the main colors, and we used a lot of shades of this palette throughout the decor.”
For dessert, Ann and Chris provided a spread of delicious sweets. “We picked mini cupcakes and dessert shot glasses,” Ann says.
“We had our small wedding cake on top of the cupcake tower," Ann says. "Chris and I love sweets, so we told our planner that we wanted a good selection of desserts for our guests.”
