A Modern Rooftop Wedding at TheWit in Chicago, Illinois
Krystal Marquez (32 and a marketing and public-relations assistant for Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora) and Edgar Navarro (32 and assistant director of rooms for Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village) had the first wedding at the Roof at TheWit Hotel. With gold, soft pink and white as the color palette, the modern wedding became an extraordinary affair. Krystal glowed as she walked down the aisle at Immaculate Heart of Mary in her strapless white Nicole Miller wedding gown. With an intricate lace overlay, the belt she accessorized with was a pop of bling and glamour alongside her handmade headband. To transform the Roof at TheWit with floor-to-ceiling windows, Krystal brought her friend, Janet Ibe Alikpala, a freelance wedding coordinator. She helped bring to life Krystal and Edgar's love for each other and Chicago. With the Chicago skyline throughout multiple elements of the reception decor, the couple wanted to treat their guests with Garrett's popcorn as their wedding favor. How yummy! "We really wanted to make it personal. We even had a drink named after our fur baby, [our dog] Chula, named The Chula," Krystal says. This light pink cocktail follows the delicious recipe of a paloma, with one part tequila and three parts grapefruit soda. Their friend Jesse De La Pena was their DJ, and he played Krystal and Edgar's favorite songs all night. "We danced all night surround by the people we love in the city we love," Krystal says.
