James Scalzitti (48 and a deputy communications director) and Stephen Loch (41 and an actor) got married the day after the Supreme Court ruling on same-sex marriage. To mark their marriage and this historic moment, the couple planned a modern celebration at Firehouse Chicago, a loft-style event venue with a contemporary twist. They chose a crisp palette of dark blue and matte silver to decorate the space. Round dining tables were covered in navy linens and set up with dark brown wooden chairs for the event. Centerpieces were made up of rustic wooden boxes filled with violet roses, purple stock, dusty miller and greenery. In addition to the votive candles that dotted all the reception tables, the room was illuminated by market lighting from above and string lights wrapped around the industrial spiral staircase. James and Stephen opted to wear suits instead of tuxedos on their wedding day. James wore a navy suit with a light blue tie while Stephen wore a blue-gray suit with a red and navy paisley tie. After dinner and cigars, the newlyweds danced the night away to music provided by Style Matters. Candice C. Cusic Photography beautifully captured the day.
