Because Meghan Norris (28 and in advertising) and Terrence O'Brien (32 and in trade association management) fell in love in the Big Apple, they wanted to treat their guests to night out on the town for their wedding. "We wanted a classic NYC evening affair," Meghan says. They chose the Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers as their venue because of its very New York views of the Statue of Liberty and the Freedom Tower. To decorate this event space, they chose a color palette of blue, purple and ivory with gray accents. "I wanted to embrace the colors of spring and let the flowers steal the show," Meghan says. These lush flower arrangements included the bridesmaids' blue hydrangea and grape hyacinth bouquets that they carried with their gray dresses and similar floral centerpieces that decorated the gray reception tables. Meghan and Terrence also wanted to highlight their love of wine and the people they share it with. They collected cork stoppers from all of the different social gatherings they attended over the last few years and used them as the place holders for their escort cards. They also used wine bottles that they drank on special occasions with family and friends as holders for their table numbers. And Terrence found an old wine barrel from his family home that they used to decorate the escort card table. Sarah Tew Photography was there to capture all the personalized details!

Meghan carried an ivory bouquet with peonies, garden roses and hydrangeas. The arrangement was wrapped by ivory ribbon.
Meghan wore a strapless A-line Pnina Tornai wedding dress. "My consultant immediately suggested the perfect dress to match my vision of classic elegance," she says. "I fell in love with it as soon as I put it on."
Meghan asked her bridesmaid to pick their own dresses from the J. Crew bridal collection. Her only requirement was that their dresses were all gray. " It was fun to see what each of them selected!" she says.
The bridesmaids carried lush spring bouquets with blue hydrangeas, grape hyacinths, purple stock, white roses and green trick dianthus.
Terence and his groomsmen dressed in black suits and black ties, and they pinned white flower boutonnieres to their lapels. Their look complemented the gray bridesmaid dresses.
Meghan and Terence were married at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament in New York City.
The escort card display table was decorated with a wine barrel from Terence's family with cherry blossom branches that was surrounded by floating candles.
In keeping with the wine theme, escort cards were displayed in cork stopper place holders.
White orchids were floated in cylinder vases alongside floating candles on some of the reception tables.
Table numbers were displayed on the cork stoppers of wine bottles on the reception tables.
