For their spring wedding in Denver, Colo., Fallon Rueger (24 and a preschool teacher) and Carl Koelbel (30 and a real estate developer) planned a romantic, modern event with plenty of personalized touches and a cheerful color palette of purple and lavender hues.

The day started with a traditional religious ceremony at a local church, followed by a reception at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. The Chambers-Grant Salon with its twinkling fiber optic ceilings made guests feel as though they were dining under the stars, while exposed stone walls added a note of warmth and rustic charm to the otherwise contemporary decor.

Lavender table linens and skyward-reaching arrangements of roses and hydrangeas contrasted with streamlined glass vases and mirrored accents to create an aesthetic that walked the line between feminine elegance and modern grandeur. Each table was named after a building of note to the newlyweds and was accompanied by a line sketch for a touch of unique flair. After dinner the Jerry Barnett Orchestra Band got guests up out of their seats and onto the dance floor, where they showed off their moves late into the night.
