A Modern Travel-Themed Wedding at the New Seabury Country Club in Mashpee, Massachusetts

Carrie Mackoff (25 and an accountant) and Josh LaQuerre (26 and a pilot) met briefly during their freshman year of college, but it wasn't until a few years later that the two really got to know one another. Josh, a Maine-based pilot who commuted to Logan Airport everyday for work, moved in with their mutual friend, who was also Carrie's neighbor, to cut down on commuting time. They quickly became inseparable and two years later, Josh popped the question, taking Carrie to his hometown of Old Orchard Beach, Maine and getting down on one knee after a romantic walk along the beach.Having spent every summer on Cape Cod, Carrie knew it was there that she wanted to tie the knot. The couple chose the New Seabury Country Club in Mashpee, MA to the host the event, the elegant venue offering breathtaking views of Nantucket Sound and Martha's Vineyard. Carrie and Josh decked out the venue with a vibrant color palette of plum and burnt orange to celebrate the fall season and contemporary touches like floating candle and orchid centerpieces arranged on top of mirror plaques. As a nod to Josh's work as a pilot, the couple incorporated a travel theme into the day with details like boarding pass save-the-dates, luggage tag escort cards, a globe guest book and airline-themed table names adding a fun, personal element to the decor.

New Seabury Country Club Reception Venue
Carrie walked down the aisle in a classic A-Line gown by Allure Bridal. The dress featured a draped sweetheart bodice and full satin skirt. "The skirt was a little fuller than I would have liked when I originally bought it," says Carrie, "so I had my seamstress remove one of the layers underneath to bring down the pouf a little."
Carrie opted for a dramatic cascading bouquet filled with ivory roses and lilies. The addition of Picasso calla lilies added a subtle hint of color that tied into the day's purple color scheme.
Traditional Three Piece Gray Suits
Before heading to the New Seabury Country Club for a night of dinner and dancing, Carrie and Josh exchanged vows in a traditional church ceremony.
In addition to the open bar, Carrie and Josh set up sangria stations throughout cocktail hour so that their thirsty guests wouldn't have to wait in line.
As a nod to Josh's work as a commercial airline pilot, the couple incorporated a travel theme into the day, including airport-inspired signs, luggage tags and tables named after major airlines.
Tying into the wedding's travel theme, luggage tags were used as escort cards. Each colorful tag point guests in the direction of their airline-inspired table.
Instead of a traditional guest book, Carrie and Josh had their friends and family members write their well wishes on a world globe.
Modern Purple Wedding Reception
For a sleek, modern feel that still delivered on ambiance, the couple decorated their tables with mirrors and hurricane vases filled with floating candles and bright purple orchids.
Carrie and Josh decided to skip out on traditional wedding cake, instead serving a variety of cupcakes, including chocolate peanut butter, oreo cookie, carrot cake and vanilla.
A candy bar with a variety of chocolates and assorted candies was set up for guests to take home.
