A Natural, Fall Wedding at Shenandoah River State Park in Bentonville, Virginia
Josh Widmer (26 and a forestry technician) proposed to Amanda Eakins (25 and a biology teacher) on her birthday. He took her camping at the beach, since she had never been to the beach before. As they were watching the sunset, he handed her a Precious Moments figurine of a boy proposing to a girl, but before he could ask for her hand she began shouting, "Yes!" The couple decided to get married at the Raymond Andy Guest Jr. Shenandoah River State Park in Bentonville, Virginia, where Josh's father is the park manager and where they had spent innumerable hours hiking, fishing and canoeing. Their natural, fall wedding was vibrant and rustic. Amanda and Josh's ceremony took place outdoors, with stunning views of Massanutten Mountain and Shenandoah Valley's autumn leaves. Its colorful aisle decorations of purple, red and orange flower arrangements were echoed in the bridal party's bouquets, which consisted of dahlias, calla lilies and gerbera daisies. The following reception took place in the nearby Bowling Green Country Club in Front Royal, Virginia. Guests feasted on the pumpkin spice, buttercream wedding cake and received leaf shaped bottles of maple syrup as favors. Amanda and Josh's wedding was beautiful in its simplicity, and they let the park's natural beauty speak for itself.
