This fall wedding couldn't have been more natural or chic. Using their proposal in Georgia and her rose gold engagement ring as inspiration, Shelby Glynn Castelao (25 and a photographer) and Zack Murray (23 and a videographer) filled Lange Farm in Dade City, Florida, with all their favorite woodsy decor. We’re talking a ceremony under a fabric-draped oak tree, ivory skeleton magnolia-leaf aisle decor, pear wedding favors, DIY gold leaf escort cards, organic tablescapes from 2Birds Events and tree-inspired table names. To bring in the season, everything fit into a rich palette of gold, burgundy, crimson and plum. Shelby and Zack even had a spiced, naked wedding cake with caramel drizzle to give it that golden hue. See every gorgeous autumn detail as it was beautifully shot by Best Photography, below.

After some research on Pinterest, Shelby knew she wanted an organic bouquet filled with rich wildflowers, amaranthus and eucalyptus. Their florist, 2Birds Events, designed her arrangement with those and more. “My bouquet was filled with more flowers than I could even name,” Shelby says. Pink astilbes, seeded eucalyptus, pink hanging amaranthus, pink ranunculus, greenery, burgundy roses, scabiosa and branches were all a part of her lush display under an ivory ribbon wrap.
The groomsmen strutted down Lange Farm in a casual look that suited the outdoor setting. They wore blue J.Crew shirts, brown corduroy pants from the Gap and matching dark brown leather suspenders from BuyYourTies.com. Of course, they also wanted a little color to match the bridesmaids. So each man also accented his shirt with a red boutonniere.
Zack took on a slightly more formal look than his groomsmen. He was ready for fall in a dapper, tweed double-breasted vest and matching pants by River Island. “We added a dark brown pocket chain to his vest. It gave us a matching look: his chain and my draping chains on my belt,” Shelby says. The addition also resembled a pocket watch chain, giving his look a more vintage vibe.
While the rest of Shelby’s look had a bohemian style, she picked shoes that were more structured. Designed by Jessica Simpson, the peep-toe heels had lace detailing along the ankles and ivory satin lining.
All of Shelby's jewelry matched her rose gold engagement ring. She wore a chic Fossil bracelet, two pairs of rose gold earrings from Etsy and a bohemian DIY headband. “Sometimes when you can’t find what you’re looking for, you just gotta make it happen some way or another,” she says. “I draped the same necklace chains in my hair that I used in my [DIY rose gold] belt.”
Wanting to highlight their venue, Shelby and Zack kept to almost all-white decor. Their guests sat in rows of white folding chairs accented by tons of classic, ivory skeleton magnolia leaves scattered over the aisle. Their wedding arch was even made with ivory fabric draped across a nearby oak tree.
Part of Shelby and Zack’s ceremony decor was a gift from their caterers. “The flower arrangements on those tables were actually left over from another wedding. Olympia Catering brought them in case we wanted them,” Shelby says. “They weren’t exactly like my other flowers, but they still matched the decor and turned out great.” Each had roses, hydrangeas and eucalyptus that went with their natural decorations, including a rustic lantern and shabby-chic table.
Their aisle decor couldn't have been more chic. Ivory skeleton magnolia leaves cascaded down the aisle and filled their ceremony space by an ivory fabric wedding arch.
Even their ceremony decor had a sweet, natural flair to it. Shelby and Zack shared their first kiss in front of a chic wedding arch that included yards of ivory fabric draped over the limb of a grand oak tree. Ivory skeleton magnolia leaves were also scattered throughout the ceremony space.
“Since the wedding was going to be outside, I wanted something that felt like it belonged in the woods, but was still elegant,” Shelby says of her dress. She also likes more bohemian styles and wanted something to match her rose gold engagement ring. After a few tries, she found the perfect look at White Magnolia Bridal Collection. The soft, ivory gown had a chic, pleated A-line skirt and ruching along the strapless sweetheart bodice. To make the look her own, Shelby also added DIY off-the-shoulder straps and a DIY champagne-colored belt with draped gold chains.
Her bridesmaids rocked the fall theme with these jewel-tone-inspired dresses by Wtoo. Each fuchsia, pink, purple, coral or black look had ruching along the one-shoulder strap, an empire waist and a short chiffon skirt. The women also had a few unified accents: champagne-colored shoes, half-up hairstyles, drop earrings and mini versions of Shelby’s bouquet.
While Shelby and Zack made sure every family-style table at their outdoor reception was a little different, they kept a few staples. White linens covered every table with burgundy or plum napkins and matching vases to bring in their fall theme. White folding chairs were also paired with each place setting.
Even the escort cards felt like fall. Shelby made one for every guest by spray-painting magnolia leaves gold and then writing every guest's name. They were placed near Bosc pear wedding favors.
Their ivory table numbers also matched the day’s natural decor. They fit the scenery with tree-inspired names, including aspen, oak, birch, pine, willow and spruce. Like the gold-leaf escort cards, Shelby also wrote out each table name by hand.
“I wanted the reception to have unity in colors and themes, but not look uniform—more like an organic setting of flowers,” Shelby says. The reception’s family-style tables were filled with low and tall centerpieces of dahlias, astilbes, magnolia leaves, greenery and wildflowers all in their favorite burgundy, red and green hues. Arrangements from 2Birds Events also helped to bring in the day’s fall feel.
Every arrangement on Shelby and Zack's tablescapes was a little different. 2Birds Events filled the low gold and tall plum vases with a mix of red, green and burgundy hues to make it feel even more like fall. A specific centerpiece had red dahlias, eucalyptus, scabiosa and leaves.
With some help from Olympia Catering & Events, their wedding cake also achieved a natural look. The two-tier spice cake was separated by cream cheese icing and glazed in caramel, giving it a rich golden color. “It was the best cake I’ve ever had,” Shelby says. “Everyone agreed.” Burgundy and orange dahlias, as well as berries, white lisianthus and greenery decorated each layer.
Shelby and Zack's rustic sweetheart table was made entirely by Shelby and her father. The finished wood table matched their guests’ seating with a sweet lace runner, tealight candles and even mini fall-inspired arrangements from 2Birds Events. But there was one distinct difference. “My abuela [grandmother] had just gone into the hospital the week of my wedding,” Shelby says. “So I had her photo on our table to show her that she made it to my wedding.” How sweet is that?
This sweetheart table accent was also a nod to their wedding favors. Along with placing Bosc pears on the dinnerware, Shelby and Zack highlighted their seating with this an orange “Perfect Pair” banner.
“Zack and I danced our way through the bubble-blowing crowd to Jimmy Durante’s ‘I’ll Be Seeing You.’ It made for some pretty outstanding exit pictures,” Shelby says. “The song, mixed with the excitement and love from all our family and friends shouting and waving, made me cry before we even drove out of sight. Zack even got a little misty. We didn’t want to leave!”
