A Natural, Locally-Inspired Wedding at Peninsula Room in Traverse City, Michigan

Michigan-natives Cara Fritz (22 and an event coordinator) and Bryan Fritz (23 and a financial analyst) knew right away that they wanted to get married in their home state. The Peninsula Room on Old Mission Peninsula provided the casual, rustic ambience they love about northern Michigan. Everything about their wedding was locally sourced. Hooper’s Farm Garden brought in peonies and lush florals, which composed Cara’s hand-tied bouquet and decorated everything from the dining table centerpieces to the back of Cara’s dad’s vintage Cadillac. And yes, the newlyweds definitely went for a ride. Their signature cocktails included a cherry limeade made with Peninsula Room’s own cherry vodka and an American wheat beer brewed with Michigan cherries. Cara and Bryan really focused on a top-notch menu, and they got it: The choices of grilled filet mignon, pan-seared salmon and slow-cooked chicken were a hit. But it was their dessert that stood out.
