A Natural, Rustic Industrial Wedding at Moss Denver in Denver, Colorado
With natural touches and vintage décor, Emily Sasson (32 and a dance instructor and choreographer) and Jovan Nixon (35 and a barista) created a wedding that was true to their personal aesthetic.
“We love all things wood, rustic and vintage,” Emily says. “We wanted to create that same vibe for our wedding so we could use most of the décor in our house after. The memory of our day will always be a part of our daily life.”
The couple adorned each handcrafted wood table with moss, twigs and candles, and each had a bottle of wine with a customized label serving as a table number.
Both brides love greenery, so they designed bouquets with succulents, maroon calla lilies and draping greenery.
The brides both chose strapless dresses. Emily’s gown was more traditional with lace, while Jovan’s two-piece ensemble was more modern with a beaded corset top and fitted long skirt. The couple used keys—a sentimental symbol of their relationship — as a theme throughout the day, including on the escort cards.
The rustic feel of their venue perfectly fit the vibe of the couple’s wedding. “Even though Moss Denver was still being built at the time we booked, we knew the owner was going to create one of the most beautiful spaces anyone had ever seen—and he totally did,” Emily says.
Jovan and Emily cut into a small gluten-free, dairy-free cake during the reception.
