A Natural, Rustic Winter Wedding at Edgewood Tahoe in Stateline, Nevada

The snow-capped mountains around Lake Tahoe provide a breathtaking view on any day, but for a winter wedding, they make for an especially romantic backdrop. That’s why Lissette Carlson (28 and the owner of Dolled-Up Cakes by Lissette) and Justin Carlson (30 and in the US Coast Guard) celebrated their marriage at Edgewood Tahoe in Stateline, Nevada, a stunning rustic venue with an incredible uninterrupted view of the natural scenery. Lissette dressed for the season in a pretty tea-length wedding dress that had perfect snowflake-shaped buttons down the back, which she paired with a vintage fur stole and her mother’s snowflake brooch. To make sure their 45 guests were comfortable and warm, Lissette and Justin had Mexican hot chocolate available at their cocktail hour. (Plus, Edgewood Tahoe provided local brew beers and wine into their reception package.) Lissette and Justin’s wedding was full of DIY details that made the day entirely heartfelt. Lissette’s mother made her natural wildflower and pinecone bouquet, which looked like it had just been swept up from the surrounding woods. Justin made DIY wooden centerpieces, stained wooden signs for the bride and groom chair signs and a carving of their names and wedding date. To top it off, Lissette made her own three-tier red velvet naked wedding cake (and it was a perfect match for the natural wooden decor).
