A Natural, Summer Wedding at Boerner Botanical Garden in Hales Corner, Wisconsin

Sometimes, the best parties are the ones that are sweet and simple. Rebecca Schmidt (24 and a social worker) and Stephen Darrow (26 and a special education teacher) had a beautiful, fun wedding at the Boerner Botanical Gardens in Hales Corner, Wisconsin. "This area has the most beautiful gardens with lush trails, water features and colorful flora," Becky says. "There was little decorating necessary." Their natural wedding was captured by Vital Image Photography. "When deciding between wedding styles, I was torn between a girly light pink color palette and a more cozy palette with navy and cream hues," Becky says. "I decided to go with the navy blue color palette so that I wouldn't torture my husband by making him wear pink." Stephen looked handsome in a black vest and bow tie on his wedding day, and his groomsmen matched him in navy blue vests and ties. Becky's bridesmaids wore strapless, floor length dresses in navy blue from Vera Wang for David's Bridal, which featured ruffled details down the front. They paired their dresses with ivory sashes. The flower girl matched them in inverted colors with a traditional white dress and navy blue sash. Becky looked beautiful in a Mori Lee gown with lace details and beading, which she bought from Amelishan Bridal. Becky and Stephen hosted their reception at Cuvee, a loft-style space in Milwaukee. "I think what made our wedding day so special to us was that it was so low-key and family-oriented," Becky says. "Stephen and I weren't too concerned with strictly following wedding traditions, and we focused on choosing what made us happy. Going with our gut made our decisions so much easier."
