A Natural Woodland Wedding at San Moritz Lodge in Crestline, California
Since Amy Schonheit (24 and in the arts) and David Schonheit (24 and in engineering) both shared a love for the outdoors, they had their nuptials surrounded by the woodlands at San Moritz Lodge in Crestline, California. Amy and David loved the color teal, so they combined the hue with other shades to create a palette that blended in with nature—from the bridesmaid dresses in different styles and lengths to the greenery that accented the sides of the wooden ceremony archway. Amy wanted a simple yet elegant wedding dress and found the perfect strapless gown, which had a sweetheart neckline that she wore with a silver belt. Inside the rustic building at San Moritz Lodge, small wooden birdhouse-shaped props painted with numbers marked each dining table for guests to find their seats. Colorful flowers, wheat and small votive candles served as centerpieces, scattered on top of burlap and lace draped across the middle of the tables. The two-tier white wedding cake perched on top of a tree trunk embodied the natural vibe of the day, with green leaves carefully placed on the surface of each layer and a tree-shaped topper.
