A Nautical Jersey Shore Wedding at the Navesink Country Club in Middletown, New Jersey

Jersey Shore raised Kristi (28 and in finance) and Mike (29 and in sales) have known each other since high school, but didn’t officially cross paths until the end of college. They got engaged during the holiday season, “We planned to celebrate our annual ‘Christmas tradition’ the Saturday before Christmas. Since 2007 when we met, we always planned a Christmas night, starting with drinks at Rolfs in Grammercy Park. This place just exudes Christmas, you feel like you are in the North Pole. Since he surprised me there the first year we dated, it was always a to-do before Christmas, so I didn't think twice about it when Mike told me to mark it on my calendar,” says Kristi. Mike ended up proposing at the Waverly Inn in the West Village with a radiant cut with a diamond band setting. For their wedding the couple returned to their native Jersey shore and chose a beachside vibe for their wedding day. “It was never even a conversation, we knew we wanted to get married there,” says Kristi of their wedding venue. “I had always wanted something on the water with a casual beachy feel, but when Sandy struck 2 months before we got engaged, that limited our options. Navesink was perfect, local and beautiful venue sitting on the hills and golf course overlooking the Navesink river and a slight view of the ocean. We went with a subtle nautical theme, nothing too overt.” In keeping with the nautical look they used a color palette of navy with blush and champagne accents. The entire wedding was an intimate family affair, Mike’s cousin officiated the couple’s Catholic mass wedding ceremony.
