A Nautical Spring Wedding at the Belle Haven Club in Greenwich, Connecticut

Dana Sloan (32 and works in executive search) and Adam Baer (38 and works in finance) planned an elegant waterfront soiree for their Memorial Day nuptials at the Belle Haven Club in Greenwich, Conn. Drawing inspiration from the striking setting, a picturesque New England country club overlooking the sparkling blue waters of Long Island Sound, the pair decided on a nautical theme complete with a classic ivory and navy color palette and a custom anchor motif.

Taking advantage of Belle Haven’s ocean views and unparalleled location, Dana and Adam invited their guests to witness their vows against a vast backdrop of blue. A white birch chuppah draped in curly willow, hydrangeas, roses peonies, virbenum and variegated greenery framed the couple as they said their “I dos” and created a show-stopping focal point for the ceremony.

Family and friends then joined the newlyweds on the Belle Haven terrace for cocktail hour where they sipped on the couple’s signature cocktail, the Baer Hug — a strawberry, cilantro and jalape?o margarita — and took in the striking scenery. The rest of the celebrations unfolded in the club’s elegant ballroom. Tables were dressed in ivory and navy linens, with silver lanterns and rope accents playing up the evening’s nautical theme. Arrangements of hydrangeas, peonies and thistle brought an air of freshness to the space, while warm candlelight and strands of twinkling bistro lights created a sense of romantic ambiance.

After dinner, Dana and Adam got the party started, surprising guests with a photo booth and live band, Soul Solution, who brought the house down all night long.
