A Nautical Wedding at Silver Swan Bayside in Stevensville, Maryland

Katelyn Baughan (26 and in online communications) and Eddie Baughan (27 and a property manager) are big fans of the beach, so it made perfect sense that they had their wedding by the water at Silver Swan Bayside in Stevensville, Maryland. They took the waterfront venue all the way with a nautical theme and a color palette of coral, gray, ivory and turquoise. After their heartwarming ceremony on a patio facing the Chesapeake Bay, Katelyn, Eddie and their guests headed indoors for the reception before the stormy weather began. But rain only added to the ambience. Inside, round ivory dining tables were arranged with brown chiavari chairs. They were topped with centerpieces of floating candles wreathed by ferns, white lilies and starfish motifs. Guests found their seats by referring to sand dollar escort cards. The chairs for the sweetheart table were decorated with "Mr." and "Mrs." signs hanging from strings of seashells. And ivory figures of sea creatures were placed around the room, like the seahorse that decorated the dessert table. For the seafaring event, Eddie and his groomsmen wore gray suits with white ties. Katelyn's bridesmaids wore coral dresses and carried ivory bouquets, while Katelyn wore a Maggie Sottero gown and carried a coral rose bouquet. Our favorite detail? Instead of a traditional wedding cake, Katelyn and Eddie served their guests a variety of macarons, which were displayed on a clear, tiered stand.
