Lauren DeLisle (31 and a teacher) met Chris DeLisle (32 and a financial software professional) met when they were set up by Lauren's brother. They met briefly when Lauren was hosting a fundraiser for Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, a cause close to her heart, since her father was diagnosed with the rare blood cancer. After connecting at the fundraiser, Lauren and Chris began dating. A year and a half later, Chris popped the question at the Nauticus Marina in Osterville, Massachusetts. Chris intended to propose on a sunset boat ride, but his boat died before they could take off, so he proposed dead in the water and they celebrated with champagne. Chris gave Lauren a classic 6 prong solitaire in a platinum setting. "I am pretty simple so this was perfect," she says. Lauren and Chris chose to have their reception at the Nauticus Marina. It was an obvious decision for the couple. "Chris and I walked in to the Marina on a sunny day in August. The nautical flags were billowing in the wind and the salty ocean water was lapping up again the most stunning Hinckley boats," Lauren says. "It was so classic New England and nautical. We're also boat lovers so Nauticus was perfect."In keeping with their classic nautical theme, Lauren and Chris incorporated New England touches throughout their wedding such as a mini wooden lawn chair cake topper and a raw bar with oysters and shrimp. (Chris also wore socks embroidered with lobsters beneath his navy suit!)
