A Natural Forest Wedding at RT Lodge in Maryville, Tennessee
Megan Hickok and Ryan Teeter's wedding focused largely on nature, since "both of us feel most at home in it," the couple says. "The vision began with the location of RT Lodge, nestled in the woods of Maryville close to Great Smoky Mountain National Park. We wanted the woods that surrounded the event to appear to have just ran into it and through it." The ceremony took place on the outskirts of the forest, and it centered around an arch adorned with white flowers and greenery. Guests moved into a tent for the rustic-inspired reception. A green and white color palette effortlessly tied in the wooded surroundings, while the blooming flowers added natural color. The décor also featured hanging wicker basket lights, taper candlesticks and pops of greenery.
Our favorite #MakeTradition moment: "Ninety percent of the guests were traveling from out of town, so we turned the wedding into a weekend celebration," the couple says. "Guests stayed on-site, and we even had a welcome party Friday night where our friends, who are a local acoustic band, played all night while we all got to catch up with one another. I loved feeling like we were all getting away for the weekend together."
