A Nostalgic, Woodland Wedding at Theodore Wirth Chalet in Golden Valley, Minnesota
Celebrating nostalgia and honoring Scottish tradition were two important themes to Emily Genco (26 and a content strategist) and Daniel Kastner (28 and a QA). Tartan plaid accents, sprigs of evergreen and various Twin Peaks references made for a rustic, ultra-personal fete at a chalet in Hennepin County. The fun-loving pair brought the outdoors in thanks to verdant garlands of eucalyptus, cedar, juniper, thistle and pine. The couple lit blueberry-scented candles to illuminate the cozy venue. “The entire room smelled like the blueberries I used to pick with my nan and pop in the Pocono Mountains,” Emily says. The bride and her mom designed a boho gown using pieces of fabric from her mother’s Chantilly lace wedding dress. After indulging in a spread of locally baked doughnuts and seven different pies, family and friends saw the newlyweds off with a glow-stick exit that signaled the end of the evening.
