A Patriotic Rustic Wedding at Antique Acres in Bogart, Georgia

Samantha Salyers (23) and Chris Amos (22 and in the US Army) proudly put a patriotic twist on their rustic wedding. “The military is a huge part of our life, and we wanted to incorporate that into our wedding,” Samantha says. Antique Acres in Bogart, Georgia, set the laid-back tone for their day—it had just the right amount of country, with the convenience of having the ceremony next door to the reception. Samantha and Chris’s take on the American flag inspired their navy and coral palette, which their event planner, Smith Nest, and their event designer, Taylor Ecker Borgerding Graphics, helped them pull together with lots of DIY decor. Samantha brought out her feminine side with lots of ribbons and lace to contrast the burlap and wood, and Chris made their wooden wedding arch and table. Following their heartfelt ceremony, Samantha and Chris’s reception took everyone into a wooden barn illuminated with string lights, where they shared their first dance to “I Don’t Dance” by Lee Brice. Their all-American confections truly made a statement: Chris’s groom’s cake looked like the American flag, and they had red, white and blue cupcakes too. But they didn’t stop there. At the end of the party, Samantha and Chris made their grand exit to all their guests waving American flags. Andie Freeman Photography captured this special moment and more, below.
