A Peach-and-Terracotta Palette Added Cheer to This Greenville, South Carolina, Wedding

After visiting 30 venues in Charlotte and another 15 in Asheville, Lauren and Evan happened to be walking around Greenville, South Carolina, one day when they stumbled upon, "an abandoned brick building by the riverfront and laughed as we thought maybe we should do our wedding here. There was a restaurant close by, 'Larkins On the River' that we stopped in to see if anyone knew anything about the building." After connecting with the director of events, the couple was able to settle on a venue managed by the same company, all because they stumbled across an inviting, yet abandoned, building. "All in all, the Southern small-town charm won over so many people in our wedding, it was affordable, there were direct flights from Chicago, Detroit, and Tampa all helping make the weekend come together. We were lucky enough to have stumbled upon the venue but also the city that helped make our day so special and we will never forget it!"

After finding the perfect venue, the couple set to work on planning their wedding day.  They twosome chose a, "boho/modern theme" with a color palette that was, "free-spirited, warm and chic. We wanted to keep the room bright and fun and really put an emphasis on the floral decorations which looked great with those pops of color." The couple's floral designer used, "tones of warm pink ranging from blush to the brighter salmon and coppery orange, and a mix of dry and fresh details. Ball dahlias in cheerful peachy pink and soft orange, plume type celosia for a soft spike form, foraged grasses, and salmon zinnias were highlighted. We consciously chose to avoid any truly green foliage in this entire wedding which can be a bit of a challenge but we loved the resulting flower-focused riot of feminine color, choosing lots of beige and soft blue-leaning notes to break up the brighter colors."

Beyond just stunning floral arrangements, the food at Lauren and Evan's wedding was just as memorable. "A 'must' for us was buffet style. We have been to weddings where plated food was tough to keep warm for that many people, so we knew that style would work best for us. We love Italian so naturally we went with the 'Tour of Tuscany' option. People to this day rave about the brown-butter sage gnocchi with pancetta that we had! They also had options of chicken parmesan, meat lasagna, penne pasta with vodka sauce, marinated vegetables with Pepperoncini, tossed Caesar salads and garlic bread. For dessert- mini cannoli’s and tiramisu bites, along with our gorgeous cake," the couple shares.

After an epic wedding, the couple enjoyed an equally amazing honeymoon, thanks to their honeymoon registry, which they note was their favorite registry item. "We registered a honeymoon fund and yes it was the most worth it thing, we lived two weeks of complete bliss, as king and queen in every place we went, and it was the ultimate splurge but the most amazing vacation ever! We spent 3 days in Shanghai and then travelled to Bali for 13 days."
