A Peach-Inspired Farm Wedding at the Walters Barn in Lula, Georgia

Georgia peaches hold special meaning for childhood best friends turned high school sweethearts Caitlyn Ownbey (22 and an environmental engineer) and Morgan Ownbey (22 and a chemical analyst). They were both raised in the South, and peaches were a big part of their summers together. (What’s more, Caitlyn’s parents were high school sweethearts too, and her dad had worked on a large peach farm.) Once they found a picture of a wedding cake with sugar-coated peaches, the theme came together. Caitlyn chose mint as a natural accent color, and even included vines and honeysuckles into the decor with help from Suwanee Towne Florist. She and Morgan brought in ripe peaches and peach preserves from the stand in Fort Mill to give as wedding favors, and peaches were incorporated into the flower arrangements, wreaths and centerpieces. Luna’s Restaurant even catered cocktail hour snacks with peach jam and an incredible Southern dinner, with peach sauces to accompany the entree. The entire day was filled with meaning, and it unfolded at the Walters Barn, a beautiful and secluded venue with gorgeous views in all directions.
