A Peacock Feather Wedding at Quidnessett Country Club in North Kingstown, Rhode Island
Kristyn Fugere (27 and a certified surgical technologist) and William England (33 and an inventory controller) knew from the beginning that they wanted a dark purple and silver color palette for their wedding, but it was their florist, Golden Gate Studios, who provided the couple with the motif that would be used throughout the wedding: peacock feathers! "We incorporated peacock feathers into everything, from the flowers to the cake, even into our table numbers," Kristyn says. The couple shared a traditional ceremony at the First Unitarian Church in Providence. The reception was held in the country club where Kristyn's grandparents celebrated their 50th anniversary. Kristyn wore a classic A-Line gown, with silver beading on the bodice; a nice complement to the bridesmaid's dark purple gowns. Kristyn's bouquet was filled with white and purple calla lilies, purple roses, and green hypericum berries. After dinner, everyone enjoyed a traditional three tier white buttercream cake with alternating flavors of chocolate mousse and raspberry filling on each tier. Each tier was also decorated with purple ribbons, strands of diamonds, and of course, peacock feathers.
