A Playful Garden Wedding at a Private Residence in South Dartmouth, Massachusetts
Samantha Feingold and Enrique Kassel’s playful garden affair featured vibrant florals and a cheery palette of yellow and pink. “The flowers were incredibly important to me,” Samantha says of incorporating dahlias into the design. The alfresco affair took place in Samantha’s parents’ garden, where more than 60 varieties of dahlias were in full bloom. “My parents put a lot of love and effort into the garden, and it’s my dad’s heart and soul. I can’t imagine a lovelier or more meaningful spot for such an occasion,” she says of their home venue. Lush arrangements of Russian sage and white hostas lined the aisle, which led to a clematis-trimmed chuppah. The beauty of the gardens carried over to the reception with details such as seed packet table numbers, seed paper menus and fresh dahlia centerpieces. The couple created a personalized “family tree” on the property by suspending colorful kites and photos of family members from tree limbs. Verdant garlands, rustic flower pots and vintage votives topped farm wood reception tables, along with mason jars and plenty of candlelight. Dinner featured an array of local and seasonal flavors, including a caprese salad made with fresh tomatoes picked from Samantha’s father’s own garden. Layers of combed ivory buttercream and colorful blooms covered the strawberry-shortcake-flavored cake served for dessert.
