A Preppy Nautical Wedding at Cottage on the Creek in Charleston, South Carolina

Callie Peacock (24 and an international business analyst) and Brian Eggleston (24 and a software consultant) met in school at Stetson University in Florida, while Brian was on the baseball team and Callie was working as a baseball announcer. The duo threw a preppy Southern wedding focused on nautical touches and using a palette of navy and white with pops of pink. “We wanted to tie in nautical pieces with elegant touches to work with our amazing waterfront venue,” Callie says. The ceremony took place facing the water between two five-foot-tall silver urns spilling with white hydrangeas, garden roses and ferns framing the couple as they exchanged their vows. Callie wore a classic strapless satin gown that wrapped to one side before falling into a simple train and carried a bouquet wrapped in pieces of lace from her mother and mother-in-law’s old veils. Callie decided not to have a veil, and finished her look with Lilly Pulitzer sandals to accommodate the Lowcountry oceanside venue. The pair opted for handmade wedding invitations that Callie designed along Brian’s mother and sister and a close friend. “I love all things DIY and the menu cards, escort cards, table numbers and programs were all handmade,” Callie says. Brian’s father even jumped in to help, creating all the escort card holders. Brian, who loves to work with natural wood, designed custom wooden coasters with the South Carolina flag to decorate the reception tables. —Juliette Cheatham
