A Preppy Southern Wedding at Vics on the River in Savannah, Georgia

It took just one meeting in a club for Shannon O'Donnell (28 and a physician assistant) and Zachary Adams (29 and a financial advisor) to hit it off and become almost inseparable. When Zach popped the question, he caught Shannon completely off guard and asked at the top of a mountain during a vineyard trip. After celebrating their engagement, the couple invited guests to witness as they exchanged vows during an outdoor ceremony at Whitfield Square in Savannah. "I just loved the southern charm feel to it with the gazebo and the huge oak trees," says Shannon. A "rustic southern" reception at Vics on the River in Savannah, Georgia, followed with a bright navy blue and yellow color palette. After the ceremony, the newlyweds rented a trolley filled with moonshine and champagne to transport guests. The reception started with cocktail hour serving sweet tea vodka and lemonade in mason jars followed by a menu that included fried green tomatoes. To set the tone for their southern style wedding, arrangements of yellow calla lilies, billy balls and hydrangeas filled the indoor celebration. "My favorite part was that we had the guys wear seersucker suits and billy ball boutonnieres," says Shannon.
