Lindsey Shubert (30 and a nurse anesthetist) and Jim Dodson (28 and a real estate agent) were on the same flight to New Orleans but didn't have a chance to introduce themselves. The next day, Jim recognized Lindsey on a crowded street and the pair immediately hit it off. Two years later, Jim proposed during a trip back to New Orleans and surprised Lindsey by getting down on one knee in Jackson Square. The pair married exactly three years from their first date during a preppy summer wedding at the Thomas Bennett House in Charleston, South Carolina. "We lived and dated in Charleston and the city has a special place in our hearts so we knew it was where we wanted to marry," says Lindsey. "St. Luke's Chapel and The Governor Thomas Bennett House are perfect venues for a beautiful, Southern wedding!" The bride wore a simple yet sophisticated modified ivory ball gown while Jim and his groomsmen looked sharp in navy linen blazers with lime green striped ties. Following the timeless church ceremony, guests were treated to a refined courtyard cocktail hour and tented reception with soft peony, garden rose and ranunculus arrangements. "Charleston is such a romantic and timeless city that inspired a classic color scheme of blush, ivory, silver and antiqued gold," says Lindsey. A relaxed, low-country menu was served with full bar and the couple danced the night away with a lively band. After a sparkler grand exit, the Lindsey and Jim departed in a classic 1950 Dodge Meadowlark.
