A Preppy Vineyard Wedding at Laurita Winery in New Egypt, New Jersey

High school sweethearts Cara (23 and a fifth grade teacher) and TJ (24 and in IT sales) had an unlikely first meeting. “T.J. and I met our freshman year of high school. We had a few classes together and secretly liked each other. During our Science final I asked T.J. if he wanted some of my Pop-Tart and he said "Sure". As soon as he was mid bite, I raised my hand and told the teacher that T.J. was eating in class. He was kicked out of the final and ended up failing it. We've been together ever since,” says Cara. They chose Laurita Winery for their wedding venue. “This was the last place we looked at,” says Cara. “It was totally us and the style we were going for — rustic.” They also chose the venue for it’s privacy, “We didn’t have to share the venue with anyone and had the entire place to ourselves,” says Cara. For the color palette, Cara chose a preppy combination of coral and navy. The inspiration for the color palette was the groomsmen’s preppy blue blazer and salmon pants outfits. They kept the decor simple and minimalist to play up the beauty of the winery and vineyard. “Our center pieces were large lanterns with tall pillar candles surrounded by wine corks. My mother made chalk board signs with wine cork frames for the table numbers,” says Cara. During the cocktail hour guests were treated to wine tours where they could learn about how wine is made and corn hole games. “Our entire day really reflected us as a couple,” says Cara. “We’re two individuals who are laid-back and really value quality times with friends and family.”
