Jessica Cobb (29 and an actuary) and Matthew Dowling’s (29 and a government contractor) wedding had a sweet mix of elegant, garden-style and fun accents tied together with a bright color scheme of teal, pink, coral, green and white. On their wedding day, Diamond Events made sure the accents all went together naturally. The outdoor ceremony at Whitehall Estate in Bluemont, Virginia, was lined with coral roses and blue thistles as each bridesmaid reached the head of the aisle in a blue, lace-detailed dress. Jessica’s made her entrance in an ivory lace mermaid-style Allure Bridal dress with off-the shoulder sleeves as guests watched from rows of white chairs. Once she and Matthew said “I do,” all were treated to lawn games and an indoor reception. Galleria Florist decorated each table with a romantic arrangement of cherry blossoms as a garland of white and coral roses draped over the newlywed’s chairs. Before dinner, Matthew and his mother got the party started in a way we didn't expect. Halfway through their mother-son dance, they switched from a Beatles song to Ray Parker Jr.’s "Ghostbusters," put on their sunglasses and brought everyone onto the floor. But the surprises didn't end there. During the reception, Jessica played a song on the violin for Matthew. How sweet! The band from their college fraternity parties, Snackbar Jones, took over the music from there and kept everyone dancing until they left in a glow-stick-accented exit that was beautifully captured by Lovesome Photography. For future newlyweds, Jessica suggests having help on the day-of. "If you don't have a wedding planner, at least get a day-of coordinator," Jessica says. "Stephanie from Diamond Events was invaluable in helping us."

Matthew accented his gray tuxedo with a few hues. The charcoal gray trim was paired with a white shirt and black bow tie. Galleria Florist added to his look with a lush double white freesia boutonniere.
The bright teal fabric in the Jim Hjelm Occasions bridesmaid dresses added a fun jewel tone to Jessica and Matthew's day. When they didn't carry bright, matching umbrellas, each woman held a bouquet with coral ranunculus and white roses from Galleria Florist.
Inspired by a bouquet on Pinterest and a few pastel blooms, Jessica and the team at Galleria Florist designed a natural bouquet that fit their outdoor celebration's natural landscape. She carried a lush display of pink ranunculus, ivory roses, white dahlias, dusty miller, blue sea holly and succulents wrapped in a white ribbon.

This engagement ring is not something we see every day. "From what we understand, Matthew’s grandfather had it custom designed for his grandmother," Jessica says. An heirloom and memory of his grandmother, Matthew popped the question with this ring over a weekend getaway in November. The ring has a white gold band and unique design with four round-cut diamonds.
For a touch of color against Virginia's countryside, Galleria Florist placed bright arrangements of coral roses, white delphiniums, dusty miller and blue thistles along the aisle. Each set of blooms also matched the natural bridesmaid bouquets.

“Since Matthew and I met at a mixer between Pi Beta Phi and Sigma Nu, and four of my six bridesmaids were my pledge sisters, I pinned my Pi Beta Phi badge to my bouquet,” Jessica says. During the reception, Jessica and her sorority sisters also sneaked away to sing a traditional "ring ching" from their initiation in 2005.

“What I really loved was Carol’s suggestion to have some tall centerpieces with cherry blossoms," Jessica says. Each ivory linen-covered table was paired with a romantic, tall arrangement of cherry blossoms. Since it was also cherry blossom season, a cherry blossom design was placed on a stamp for their invitations and welcome bags.
Galleria Florist added a garden-style touch to Jessica and Matthew's chiavari chairs at the reception, which was at Whitehall Estate in Bluemont, Virginia. Each was draped with a garland of coral and white roses with wisps of greenery between each bloom.
Jessica and Matthew's wedding cake was much more than meets the eye. Connie's Cake Creations baked each layer of lemon, chocolate and butter almond cake as raspberry, cherry and buttercream filling separated the tiers. Pink, coral and white tea roses accented each buttercream-frosted tier for a sweet, garden touch. "Whitehall wrapped up the leftover cake for us to take with us and I nearly cried when we finished the last of it,” Jessica says. "It was that good."
