A Purple and White Backyard Wedding at a Private Residence in Kula, Hawaii

This outdoor wedding took place in the backyard of the groom’s family home, with trees wrapped in string lights that added some extra sparkle to the simple occasion. “With plenty of space and the gorgeous gardens, we knew it was the proper location for the event,” Jessica Solomon (21 and in housekeeping) says of her marriage to Gregory Bates (25 and in construction) in Kula Hawaii. The purple and white color palette brought the outdoor space to life, decorating many of the wedding-day details, from the rose, chrysanthemum and tulip arrangements to the wedding-party attire. Everything was beautifully captured by BellaEva Photography. At the reception, guests were seated at simple white-covered dining tables that were decorated with either candles wrapped in lace on top of burlap or flower arrangements filled with white lilies and purple tulips accented with baby’s breath by Atrium Design Works. What caught our attention was the sparkle from the beaded bodice on Jessica’s ivory dress designed by Maggie Sottero, which wrapped around from the waist in front to the illusion-patterned back. “We kept it small and simple,” Jessica says. “The circle ceremony was exactly how we originally wanted to be married, and it was carried out so beautifully. The reception was all for the family and friends, with amazing drinks, food and service to create an electric evening of dancing, laughing and good times.”
