A Purple and White Classic Wedding at Chesapeake Bay Beach Club in Stevensville, Maryland

Since John Hancock (27 and an automotive technician) proposed to Lauryn Belcher (24 and an operating room X-ray technologist) at her favorite spot in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, it's no surprise that they both wanted their wedding near the ocean. "Thanks to the special moments we had on the beach, along with my love and John's newfound love for the ocean, we decided that we wanted to get married there," Lauryn says. "The Chesapeake Bay Beach Club in Stevensville, Maryland, was the first and last venue we looked at. It was everything we wanted and more." They decked out the indoor-outdoor venue in a classic style with lavender and white hues, from the knee-length bridesmaid dresses to the menu cards with speckled designs. Erin Keough Photography captured the ceremony that took place outside on the lawn, where Lauryn and John stood under a white wooden pergola. Lauryn and her bridesmaids all held round white and purple bouquets that matched John's and his groomsmen's boutonnieres. At the indoor reception, guests found their seats at dining tables draped with purple sparkly runners, decorated by purple and white centerpieces. We loved several of the classic details done in lavender and white, but we felt the three-tier cake created by Sugar Bakers Cakes summed up the romantic occasion the best. Flavors of raspberry amaretto and lemon cream filled the stacked layers, decorated with silver dragees and topped with white peonies, plus a bride-and-groom figurine set.
