A Quaint Autumnal Wedding at Five Star Lodge and Stables in Morganton, Georgia
Even though Amy Brasher and Matt Brown were just friends after meeting through mutual friends, Matt always knew they would end up dating. But after numerous attempts of asking Amy out—and getting turned down—Matt gave up and deleted her number from his phone. When Amy finally reached out, it only took one date for her to realize how much they actually had in common. ?Both Amy and Matt were in no rush to get married after they got engaged, and even contemplated eloping. In the end they decided on an intimate woodland affair at Five Star Lodge and Stables in Morganton, Georgia. The couple limited their guest list to family and "family-like" friends in order to keep the affair simple while also cutting down on costs. They exchanged personal vows surrounded by 15 guests in a leaf-covered clearing before their casual lodge celebration. A color palette of deep jewel tones as well as burlap and lace accents lent a rustic-chic air to the understated day. While planning their wedding, the couple kept four words in mind that they hoped would sum up their event: quaint, intimate, southern and vintage. "My southern upbringing inspired my intimate fall wedding," says Amy. "I grew up with horses in a small town called Chelsea, Alabama—it was just simple and southern!"
