A Red and Black Vintage Wedding at Dickens Opera House in Longmont, Colorado

Deanna (26 and a teacher) and Russell (30 and serving in the military) created a vintage-inspired, pinup wedding with splashes of black and red. "I've always loved history, and I've also loved the old pinup girl look," Deanna says. "I knew this was going to be my theme." Deanna and Russell's ceremony was held inside the 19th-century Dickens Opera House in Longmont, Colorado. Bridesmaids and groomsmen wore black-and-white attire with red accents. Deanna wore a strapless charmeuse dress from David's Bridal with allover lace. A stunning birdcage veil and a string of pearls continued the vintage theme. Our favorite touch? The bouquets and flowers, which were created from book pages by the bride's resourceful mother. The DIY paper flowers were bundled with silk flowers and feathers to create one-of-a-kind bouquets. The project took over a year to assemble! The paper roses were even incorporated into the wedding cake, created by Indulge Bakery. All the beautiful details were expertly captured by Erika Overholt Photography. A piece of advice from Deanna: "As you are planning, it is more important to think of the marriage, not the wedding. Don't get wrapped up in the little details like flowers or shoes. Remember the person you are marrying and why you want to marry. This will make the whole process go smoothly."
