A Regal Wedding at Quail Hollow Country Club in Charlotte, North Carolina

Charlotte Rankin (26 and a gemologist) wanted to create an affair that merged old-world with a new feel for her wedding to Alex Singer (30 and in consulting). "We chose to have the wedding ceremony and reception at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, because we wanted our guests to be able to stay put and not have to change locations," says Charlotte. "We also wanted to take advantage of the gorgeous fall weather and have the ceremony outdoors." The bride chose a structured Carolina Herrera gown, and her bridesmaids wore equally sophisticated strapless Amsale dresses in navy. An off-white, cream and navy color palette evoked an understated yet timeless feel, and bouquets of pastel roses and thistle popped against the dark bridesmaid dresses. To achieve an old, country estate vibe, the couple opted against traditional tall centerpieces and instead used blue and white porcelain vases of various sizes throughout the venue with mixed flowers to create a natural look. "We really wanted to make people feel at home, and to do so we tried to channel the feeling of being at an old Southern plantation," says Charlotte. The couple also utilized their first initials in a garland motif that they carried throughout all of their paper products as well as the cake.
