A Relaxed Afternoon Brunch at Magnolia Manor in Colfax, North Carolina

Carla McMillen (35 and an airline pilot) and Richard Neubauer (42 and a US Navy Senior Chief) first met on Match.com but things ended before Rich was deployed in Iraq for a year.  The couple reconnected a few years later and Rich proposed before leaving for another nine month tour in Kyrgyzstan and Qatar. Shortly after his return, the pair hosted a morning ceremony followed by a relaxed champagne brunch at Magnolia Manor in Colfax, North Carolina  Guests were welcomed with coffee and treats before the ceremony followed by an array of breakfast fare. The couple incorporated both of their professions throughout the afternoon celebration by including anchor, rope and airplane details. Colorful floral wreaths and tall candles enhanced the navy and dark pink color scheme and decorated the outdoor reception tables. An array of DIY details added a personal feel and included a four-tiered buttercream cake and newspaper programs made by the bride's sister. "Because of our color scheme, our biggest challenge was trying to a avoid a baby shower feel!" says Carla. "I just wanted everything to be sunny and bright since we were having a morning wedding."
