A Romantic Beach Destination Wedding at Akiin Beach Club in Tulum, Mexico

Shoes were strictly prohibited at this laid-back beach wedding! For their destination Tulum nuptials, Danielle Amedeo (34 and a voice teacher) and Jason Adler (34 and a financial analyst) wanted to reflect the simple, rustic beauty of the beach and honor the bright colors of Mexico. They dressed up Akiin Beach Club in Tulum, Mexico, with a palette of blush and aqua blues that looked beautiful against the sand and water, then mixed in rustic wooden furniture with greenery and pops of strawberry red. Danielle matched the palette with a blush-colored wedding dress. Danielle and Jason wanted their guests to feel important, so they wrote their entire ceremony themselves and made it interactive—each guest received maracas to make noise during the ceremony and in the celebration afterward. At their cocktail hour and reception, they served Mexican food, such as seviche, empanadas, lime soup and a salsa bar, as well as local cocktails (micheladas for him and strawberry margaritas for her). They also had a mariachi band perform, followed by a DJ who took over to get everyone onto the dance floor.
