Marie Zgoda (24 and an event designer) and Ryan McConnell (27 and a civil architect) met when they were just 14 years old and started dating not long after. "I used to see him walking in the halls and I had the biggest crush on him," says Marie. Ryan popped the question one evening at their apartment, having filled the space with lots of warm candle light to give off a romantic, ambient vibe."I was getting ready to go out and while I was doing that, he was lighting candles and preparing to propose," says Marie. "When I walked out he was on one knee with the ring in his hand." For their wedding, the couple headed to Hilton Head Island, SC. They rented a private home right on the beach for the day, kicking things off with a ceremony in the sand, followed by a lively evening filled with dinner and lots of dancing under the stars. The inspiration for the day was the beach itself and the vibrancy of summer. The couple filled the outdoor space at their beach house venue with lush bunches of wildflowers, vintage lanterns and a cheerful color palette of navy, dusty purple, white and silver. Plenty of candlelight lent an air of romance as the sun began to set over the water and added to the day's whimsical feel.

Marie's wedding dress struck the perfect balance between bohemian and romantic. The strapless gown had a delicately beaded bodice that flowed into an airy ruffled organza skirt.
Marie's bouquet had a romantic, rustic feel with lots of bright blue and purple wildflowers, plus greenery and thistle for added texture.
Marie opted to keep her hair down for the ceremony. She accented her loose romantic curls with a delicate beaded headpiece from BHLDN that added a bohemian touch to her bridal look.
Marie's bridesmaids donned long flowy chiffon dresses for the occasion in soft shades of purple and blue for a romantic, beachy vibe.
The flower girl attire had a bohemian feel. The girls wore light summer dresses and lush purple flower crowns over their loose flowing hair.
Ryan was accompanied by both his mother and father as he made his way down the beachfront ceremony's makeshift aisle.

The couple kept their ceremony casual, exchanging vows on the beach in front of the property they rented for the day. They decided against traditional seating and decor, letting the stunning scenery take center stage.
