A Romantic Beach Wedding at DeBordieu Club in Georgetown, South Carolina
rn Pastel shades of mint, blush and ivory gave Jennifer Bailey (25 and a nurse) and Alex Dean’s (25 and a dental student) wedding a soft, romantic feel we couldn't help but love. Wanting a stunning location to set the tone for their beachy wedding theme, Jennifer and Alex chose DeBordieu Club in Georgetown, South Carolina. “My great-grandfather owned homes within DeBordieu, since the area was first developed,” Jennifer says. “I love the beach, and this special place brings warmth to my heart. It's a place of family, love and happiness, and I've always wanted to get married here. Fortunately, we were able to have our ceremony outside as planned, overlooking the beautiful marsh.” Although they had planned to have a tented reception at the Beach Club on the oceanfront deck, a tropical storm changed their plans and the 60 mph winds took them inside the DeBordieu Golf Club. Luckily, their wonderful wedding planner, Sara Wise from the Bride's Maid, helped take care of all the logistics. One of our favorite details was the stunning florals from Denise Leonard at Greenskeeper Florist. The bouquets were muted and round for a classic look while the centerpieces, accented with rustic driftwood, added plenty of texture. Another standout detail? Jennifer and Alex incorporated their Georgia roots into their South Carolina day with a Georgia peach mojito as the signature drink. “It was a fun way to bring a piece of home to the wedding,” Jennifer says.
