A Romantic Beach Wedding at Doc Ford's Rum Bar and Grille in Fort Myers Beach, Florida

Nikki Miranda, 32, and Paul Evans, 35, initially met through a networking group in Arizona. The couple had a romantic beach wedding focused on their guests in Fort Myers Beach, Florida. The words “sentimental,” “simple elegance,” “personality” and “fun,” guided their wedding planning process, says Nikki. They used a neutral color palette of blush, gold, gray and taupe to decorate the ceremony and reception. Both the couple’s guests and wedding party were encouraged to dress in these colors. With the beach serving as their main decor, Nikki and Paul decorated their bamboo wedding arch with draped white fabric as well as two small arrangements of pink roses, baby’s breath and dusty miller. Similar arrangements were also tied to some of the guests’ chairs. “We made sure our guests felt at home, loved and appreciated as much as we could. Paul and I would not be the individuals we are today without our friends and family,” says Nikki. Her, Paul and their 65 guests then moved into an intimate cocktail hour in the venue’s beach club. Two types of signature drinks and finger foods were passed for guests to enjoy. They then moved indoors for a family style reception. “We are both very close to our families and after the week long vacation our guests had on the beach together, they were now all family,” says Nikki. Her and Paul served their guests chicken, fish, salad and vegetables for dinner. Rather than a traditional wedding cake, a dessert bar of chocolate covered strawberries, cheesecake, cookies, brownies, salted caramel cups as well as a small cake with ruffled details was made available. “Everything was not 100% perfect but it was incredible to see our most favorite people unite,” says Nikki.
