A Romantic, Bohemian Wedding at The Casino San Clemente in San Clemente, California
Kristin Godoy and Matt Christensen strived for a modern, bohemian wedding with views of the ocean. They decided on The Casino San Clemente for its white fireplaces, seaside location and ability to act like a blank canvas. The celebration had a color palette of cool neutrals like peach, dusty blush, gold and black—which was also reflected in the textural flower arrangements. "I wanted wild and romantic flowers with those beautiful soft yellows and oranges," Kristin says. Large fiddle-leaf figs framed the ceremony space, which also abounded with grasses in gold and neutral-colored vases. Kristin stood out in a flowy, lace long-sleeved dress with a tulle skirt. Matt and his groomsmen donned classic black suits, while the bridesmaids wore neutral off-white dresses that let their bouquets pop. The couple set up a modern, bohemian lounge area at cocktail hour, and they continued the aesthetic at their indoor reception. For example, the sweetheart table was surrounded by potted plants and flowers, and the simple place settings had gold flatware and gold-rimmed chargers. "For the reception music, I asked our DJ to play music that sounded like we were at a prom in the year 2004. It was a huge hit and people reach out all the time to tell me that he was the best DJ ever," Kristin says.
