A Romantic Garden Wedding at Campovida in Hopland, California
Fifteen months after they got engaged on a mountain peak in New Zealand, Cassie Ludwig (28 and a doctor) and Lindsey Barnhart (32 and a lawyer) invited guests to a picture-perfect garden party at Hopland’s Campovida. “Our venue was naturally gorgeous, so we focused on infusing bits of our personalities into the design to make it our own,” Cassie says. In that spirit, the pair incorporated olive, lavender and seasonal stone fruits into their overgrown affair. “One of Lindsey’s few conditions was that we blast a Cher song during our recessional,” Cassie says. To honor that, the newlyweds played “I Found Someone.” Farm tables were named for the couple’s favorite date nights, and included short descriptions of each. “We imagined our reception having the feel of dining alfresco on a warm summer’s night in the middle of nowhere,” Cassie says. Inviting lounge vignettes offered partygoers a reprieve from the dance floor, and guests were treated to late-night grilled cheese sandwiches. The three-tier cake reflected the garden setting with sprigs of lavender, rosemary and a rose blossom topper.
