A Romantic Garden Wedding at Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe, Illinois

Outdoor enthusiasts Amy Jeffers (29 and a human resources professional) and Blake Jeffers (30 and a derivatives trader) envisioned a tented wedding that felt like a garden party. Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe, Illinois, offered exactly what they needed: a structured, open-air pavilion with gorgeous natural scenery and a staff full of wedding experts to pull it off. Jaclyn Duffield of J. Detailed Events and Connie Bolle from Chicago Botanic Garden, along with their teams, truly brought Amy and Blake’s vision of a garden party to life and ensured they were able to enjoy every moment. Their florist, Jessica at HMR Designs, laced gardenias throughout the day—Amy’s family's tradition—as well as lush garlands and fluffy pink peonies. The tented reception unfolded with Amy and Blake’s first-dance song, “Free/Into the Mystic” by Zac Brown Band—the Gold Coast All Stars totally nailed it! For Amy's dance with her father, the band performed “Amie” by Pure Prairie League, which they planned so the dance floor would open halfway through. "It was a great suggestion because the upbeat and surprising song got everyone out of their chairs and bounding onto the dance floor," Amy says. Of course, what dance party is complete without some late-night snacks? Waiters passed around Lou Malnati's pizza (a Chicago classic), but the staff had an extra treat in mind for the newlyweds. "One of my favorite memories is the staff bringing out a little heart-shaped deep-dish pizza for Blake and me to enjoy too," Amy says.
