A Romantic Garden Wedding at Hummingbird House in Manchaca, Texas

Hilary Buckley (26) was a sophomore and Victor Daniello (29) was a senior when they met at the University of Delaware two months before Victor’s graduation. They spent every day together until Victor moved to New York to start his own business, and the couple was forced to press pause on their relationship. While Hilary was finishing school, Victor moved to Las Vegas and emailed or called her every once in awhile to remind her that he missed her. About six months after she graduated, Hilary visited Las Vegas and saw Victor for the first time in two and a half years. She went to visit one more time before packing up all of her things to drive across the country to be with him. A little while later, following a move to Austin, Texas, Victor proposed right in front of the city on Lady Bird Lake. The couple knew they wanted to get married outdoors near Austin to showcase their new home, and so they chose Hummingbird House in Manchaca, Texas for a warm and enchanting atmosphere surrounded by lush gardens. They chose a color palette of light blue and green accented by pastels for a light, summery feel. Their ceremony took place in the garden in front of an iron pavilion covered in leafy green vines and a lush, romantic floral arch. The couple invited over one hundred guests from out of town, so it was important to them to show off Austin’s talented musicians at their cocktail hour and reception. One detail that the bride did not anticipate being so special was the wedding cake: “I was blown away when I saw how pretty the cake was!,” she says. “It ended up being one of my favorite elements of the reception.”
