A Romantic Garden Wedding at Private Residence in Mystic, Connecticut

Natasha Gardner (34 and a business owner) and Quentin Peabody (33 and a merchant mariner) had a naturally romantic wedding at the groom’s family’s second home in Mystic, Connecticut. “I wasn’t a woman who grew up dreaming of her wedding, but Quentin changed all of that,” says Natasha. Once she walked around the grounds of the Peabody’s home, she knew it was where she would marry Quentin. To complement the trees and greens surrounding the wedding, the couple selected peach, white and cream flowers with lush greens and wooden decor, including a wedding arbor the groom built and stained for the couple to stand under to say their personal vows. The reception took place under a clear tent where guests could feel like they were dancing under the stars. Fresh flowers, candlelight atop wooden farm tables with love song lyrics—the same songs Quentin used to send to Natasha—created a romantic, laid-back atmosphere. “Our goal was to encourage guests to make themselves at home,” says Natasha. “Our most favorite part of the wedding was standing back and taking it all in. At one point, Quentin and I found ourselves standing outside the tent watching all of our guests on the dance floor. In that moment, everyone we loved had huge smiles on their faces and were having the best time. It was the perfect end to our first day as husband and wife!”
