A Romantic, Glam Wedding at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia
It was important to Aimee Garner (31 and a recruiting analyst) and Larry Ferguson (30 and an HR research analyst) that their Southern roots were showcased throughout their wedding day. With this in mind, planner Eliana Baucicault, of Ellyn Events, pointed them in the direction of Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia. "From its perfectly manicured gardens to the antebellum design of Letitia Pate Evans Hall, the campus was perfect," Aimee says. "We would have never known about it if not for her." Porch swings on the property helped emphasize the Southern feel even more. "We put together an all-star team, but Andy Beach from Andy Beach & Co. was essential in bringing the double-X table arrangement for almost 300 guests to life," Baucicault says of the unique table setup. The couple then added four-foot-tall floral arrangements, drawing the eye to the grand ceiling of the ballroom. A true Southern affair would not be complete without some home-style cooking (and a sweet-tea bar). Larry meticulously handpicked every dish to reflect the couple's heritage and his Lowcountry culinary roots. Their cocktail hour included hors d'oeuvres such as mini chicken and waffles and fried green tomatoes, followed by Charlestonian favorites like she-crab soup and red rice served during dinner. "Our friends and family are still talking about the food," Aimee says.
