It took only one visit to Mulvaney's Building & Loan in Sacramento, California, for Michelle Winn (25 and an environmental scientist) and Justin Coldiron (30 and an energy trader) to fall in love with the indoor-outdoor space for their modern wedding with a romantic twist. "We already knew that we loved their food, but we fell in love with the romantic setting of the courtyard and intimate setting of the reception room," Michelle says. While Michelle maintained a Pinterest board with wedding inspiration, she noticed a pattern of black, white, gold and blush details that made picking the palette easy. Once Michelle and Justin told Anais Events that they wanted an antique frame as their ceremony backdrop, the wedding planners took it to the next level, setting up a large gold frame draped with white linens and flower arrangements. Guests waved wands with colorful ribbons and bells attached to the top to celebrate Michelle and Justin's unity, then moved to the indoor hall for the reception. Michelle and her sister decorated small chalkboards with gold glitter numbers for each dining table, which went with the gold and black menus on top of the gold dinnerware. Our attention drifted toward the three-tier naked cake layered with creamy goodness, topped with a wooden gold topper that read "Mr. & Mrs." See the elegant, modern details that we fell in love with, below.

The bridal bouquet arranged by Anais Event Planning & Design embodied an elegant look—with pops of coral garden roses popping out from the ivory ranunculus, rose and dahlia arrangement.
The bridesmaids all huddled around Michelle in their blush and purple dresses designed by Anthropologie's wedding brand, BHLDN. They each picked out the style of dress to fit their individual body types.
"Justin and I loved those large gold antique mirror frames, and really wanted one for our ceremony backdrop," Michelle says. "Our stylist, Amrit of Anais Events, took our idea a step further and made a flower backdrop using the frame we wanted."
Guests waved wands with colorful, flowing ribbons and bells that rang out in celebration as Michelle and Justin walked up the aisle during the recessional, at Mulvaney's Building & Loan in Sacramento, California.

Michelle and her sister created the black and gold table numbers propped up on mini gold holders surrounded by gold votive candles. "We still wanted to bring more gold into the table display, so we used gold glitter for the table numbers against a small chalkboard," Melissa says. "I am still finding gold glitter in my dining room from it."
Michelle purchased her outfit as a second-hand white dress from the nonprofit Brides for a Cause, which saved her money while giving her an original look. The white strapless Jasmine gown had a ruffled bodice with a matching belt, accented with beads wrapped around her waist.

With the help of her bridesmaids, Michelle crafted small circular gift boxes topped with animal figurines. They filled these one-of-a-kind containers with chocolates to satisfy every sweet tooth at the wedding at Mulvaney's Building & Loan in Sacramento, California.
Michelle loved the look of naked cakes, so she chose one over a traditional wedding cake. Their family friend made the delicious dessert, perched on top of a white stand and decorated with a gold "Mr. & Mrs." topper.
