Joni Goodkey (24, a Teacher) and Matthew Karch (28, an Engineer) started dating in the Fall of 2012, and got engaged in March 2014. "Matthew propsed on a Wednesday afternoon in the River Valley of Edmonton. He asked me to meet him there because a friend of his was available to take some pictures of us--something I wanted for a long time. Sure enough, Matt had planned it out so our engagement could be captured! After a few photos he got down on one knee and opened up a Verragio ring box," Joni recalls. The couple decided to get married at Fairmont Banff Springs in the mountains because they both loved the hotel's formal elegance and because they loved the gorgeous mountain scenery. Inspired by the elegant and formal Fairmont Banff Springs, the theme was also very formal and traditional with the groom and groomsmen wearing black tuxedos and the bride and bridesmaids wearing long, flowing gowns. Blue bridesmaid dresses and dyed blue roses in Joni's bridal bouquet added a pop of color in the couple's romantic, formal day.

Sparkly silver Kate Spade heels added a touch of glam to Joni's bridal style.
The bridesmaids wore bright blue floor length gowns, while the groomsmen wore formal black tuxedos.
Joni wore a white Ethos gown with a fitted bodice, lace up back and a long train.
The couple's indoor ceremony at Fairmont Banff Springs was very formal and traditional.
Joni carried a small bouquet of dyed blue roses and white calla lilies tied together with a blue ribbon.
The three tier white cake had white and blue butterflies "flying" up the side of the cake.
A large gold escort card sign stood just outside of the reception space and guided guests to their seat.
Joni and Matthew chose to get married in the mountains because they knew it would be a perfect backdrop for their photos.
