A Romantic Outdoor Wedding at a Private Residence in Franktown, Virginia

A family home on Virginia's Eastern Shore that holds many childhood memories for the bride was the perfect place for family and friends to gather for Virginia Gill (22 and a wedding photographer) and Caleb Macias's (27 and a firefighter) nature-filled nuptials. To coordinate with the setting's ethereal vibe, Virginia chose an antique-inspired gown with a beaded bodice and airy skirt. "The twirl factor was essential, and I felt so comfortable and relaxed the entire day," she says. "It was the perfect dress for me." Minimal decor allowed nature to speak for itself at the open-air ceremony. "We kept the decorations very simple to focus the guests' attention on the ceremony itself and the incredible beauty of the trees." Romantic candles, a garland runner and a long, three-foot-tall centerpiece decked out with hanging florals and greenery adorned a king's table for the newlyweds and their bridal party. Virginia and Caleb even had a painting of Fox Croft, Ginna's family estate, commissioned and printed on the back of the wedding invitations. "The watercolor painting now hangs over our fireplace and will be enjoyed for generations as a lifelong keepsake," Virginia says.—Marissa Hermanson
