A Romantic Rose-Filled Wedding at The Foundry in Long Island City, New York

For their romantic wedding, Hedieh Fakhriyazdi and Michael Pasnello sought to re-create an intimate gathering at an Italian villa. The locale, however, was The Foundry in their hometown of Long Island City, New York. Hedieh wore a sleek, feminine long-sleeved gown, she she paired with a handmade diamond headpiece. She also wore a faux feather cropped jacket for her entrance into the reception. Michael, a menswear designer, crafted his custom black tuxedo with his close friend and fellow designer Manolo Costa of Manolo Costa New York. The ceremony took place against industrial paned windows with a golden chandelier hanging overhead. The couple stood in front of brick alcoves covered in red roses (the bride's favorite flower) and greenery.  The flowers were also reminiscent of Hedieh's Persian culture and Michael's French and Italian background. Elements of the Baha'i faith (from the bride) and the Roman Catholicism (from the groom) were included in the interfaith ceremony.  For the tented reception, crystal candelabras and red roses dressed up the neutral dining tables. An accent color of gold appeared in the flatware and ghost chairs, while string lights created intimacy. In lieu of a cake, the couple served Persian ice cream with saffron, rose water, a wafer, crushed rose petals and pistachios. " The recipe for the ice cream was taken from my late grandfather's famous recipe. It's also one of Michael's favorite desserts and was his choice for the wedding," Hedieh says.
