Sharon MacCormack (24 and a special education teacher) and David Sabol (27 and an electrical engineer) built their wedding around a question posed in the book "A Practical Wedding" by Megan Keene: "How do we want our wedding to feel?" The couple wanted to celebrate their strong relationship and friendship with a warm, romantic, happy event filled with love. The couple's romantic ceremony was held in the rose garden at Hotel Baker in Charles, Illinois, with a ceremony they designed themselves with white drapery behind the altar, yellow pom-poms decor down the aisle and white twinkle lights draped from the trees. The reception was held indoors, in Hotel Baker's Rainbow Room ballroom, named because the floor illuminates in numerous colors. Sharon wore a fitted white dress with a lace corset and a sweetheart neckline. A thin belt of of jewels around her waist completed the look.
Sharon carried a simple, romantic bouquet of bright pink peonies.
The bridesmaids wore bright coral floor-length dresses, with coral cuffed bracelets and coral stud earrings.
Sharon's curly updo was pinned in place with a handmade white lace comb made by Sharon's mother in law.

The couple exchanged vows in front of an altar draped with white drapes. Yellow pom-poms lined the aisle leading to the altar. During the ceremony, the couple performed the fisherman's knot ceremony.
